Sad news, we must report that Gwen Osborne (pictured second from the right in 2010) died recently, a former winner of the 60-70 age group in the Oxford Allotments Competition, she was a much respected and friendly member of the allotments and will be very much missed by us all.

The result of the last committee meeting, was that the decision was taken to replace the communal shed. This will be done in stages, the first being clearing out of personal belongings. Then demolition, panels will be available for anyone wishing to build a chicken house or compost container. Finally the new shed will be built by a contractor.

Hence please take home all your personal items by Xmas (25/12/14)

Stimulating the brain during cognitive training

We are recruiting participants (aged 50-80 in good health) for a study that assesses that effect of mild, painless transcranial current stimulation on cognitive abilities during a fun and engaging cognitive training programme. This study will take up to 5 hours over 3 days within a week. All participants will receive £50. For further information, please email brainfhsproject@gmail.com or phone 07546366555 (Lish).

Judging will take place Thursday morning (12th) for the annual ODFAA/OCC Allotment Competition, please have your plots looking as neat as possible.

Thames Water will be at work by the entrance to the allotments because of a detected leak, so please co-operate with any instructions they may give. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Meeting starts 10-05 AM

The minutes for 2013 AGM were agreed with no matters arising.

The committee would comprise of the above plus Jenny Mould, Liz Thomas and Kathy Newman

The first committee meeting would be on 6^th April 2014 at 10 AM on site.

 The next AGM would be on 8^th March 2015

Discussion ranged about the associations bank account, whether more members could help with mowing and hedge-cutting. A new agreement between the association and members was introduced, this is to be signed before rents are paid to help combat neglected plots. This completes the terms set out in the Allotments Charter drawn up by Oxford City Council and the Oxford & District Federation of Allotment Associations.

The meeting finished at 11 AM.
