This head of a Romanesco cauliflower was a surprise find in my sprouting broccoli patch, the plants are similar and I had thought I had eaten them all in November. A bonus for this evening's meal.

With the mild wet weather this winter variety of Sprouting Broccoli, Rudolph is doing well, it has been grown under enviromesh for protection against caterpillars and pigeons.

Endive is a super winter vegetable, tie the plant into a bunch in November so that the inner leaves become blanched. Harvest for Xmas and serve with cheese and salad dressing.
